He claims he only wants to fit into an already competing team, but could he be more than a role player to help the Orlando Magic defend their rights for the chance of a life time?
Vince Carter, nearly surprised by the trade, being shipped from New Jersey all the way to Orlando, now has the chance to help out another team in the Eastern Conference. His athleticism to both score and defend makes him a go to guy in both situations on either end. The off season for Orlando is looking better replacing Hedo Turkoglu with Vince Carter. Carter can be that guy on the Orlando Magic, but won’t be after being used as the main scorer and defend in New Jersey and Toronto for many years.
The only downside to this trade is losing Tony Battie a great defender, and Rafer Alston an important bench player. But after all said and done, Vince might just be the piece to win an NBA championship team. Vince really wants to fulfill his role in Orlando now and he deserves to.
