It is still unknown how Tyler Hansbrough will do in the NBA. He was drafted 13th overall by the Pacers, but that might end up being a big mistake by the Pacers later on. Several perfectly reasonable arguments explain why Hansbrough won’t be a star in the league. First of all he’s not the biggest of athletes, he plays more around the three point arc and he doesn’t move to the ball as much as he should.
Hansbrough is the type of player that will never adjust to the NBA. The college game was perfect for him and I don’t see Tyler learning to be a dominate player anytime soon. At the most, he could score 10-15 points per game, on a good night. But he will be more of a rebounder in the NBA. He’s not much of a defender either. I do believe that Hansbrough will improve his free throw percentage if he plays 15+ minutes because he can draw an occasional foul.
If Hansbrough does ever become a star, which is unlikely, he will be more of a clutch shooter. Hansbrough has a long way to go to be a star in the NBA.
